Cowboy Boots Fashion Trend

Following the Fashion

Wearing cowboy boots has become a fashion trend for people who would not normally wear cowboy boots. These types of boots are certainly worn more for appearance than for practicality. However, many women feel that their cowboy boots are as comfortable as their favorite pair of sneakers, and as stunning as their favorite high-heels. As a result, many designers have been making boots in more colors and patterns than would normally be seen at home on the range. These cowboy boots may also include some interesting designs and extra embellishments as well.

People who wear cowboy boots strictly for fashion and appearance reasons are more likely to choose boots made from exotic skins. These exotic skins include ostrich (the most popular), as well as stingray, alligator, python, elk, goat and lizard.

Cowboy boots have become quite popular over the past 25 years or so, and during that time period, their popularity has ranged from somewhat popular to enormously popular. Cowboy boots have been seen on the fashion runways in New York City on many occasions. Their popularity has been fueled by such designers as Ralph Lauren, who actually made jeans and cowboy boots his personal trademark. Other designers followed suit, such as Michael Kors, who is responsible for the term "Sundance Chic."

The tall cowboy boot is very popular for women. The popular style of blue jeans with large cuffs looks great with a pair of high-heeled cowboy boots.

Keep in mind that one factor to avoid when wearing cowboy boots is tucking them into your jeans. This style is clearly one for the 1980’s and will really “date” a person if she is seen wearing her cowboy boots in such a manner today.

The trend in cowboy boots and other Western apparel can be attributed to the increased popularity of emphasis on the American identity. Of course, the standard cowboy boots of traditional brown leather has transformed into the use of exotic leathers and interesting color combinations. This aspect only adds to the appeal of the cowboy boot, as there are so many interesting looks that can be achieved with a pair of cowboy boots.

Teenagers have also gotten caught up in the Western trend, including wearing cowboy boots with duck-billed toes and bright, iridescent colors.

The more traditional cowboy boots were popular in the 1950’s with the widespread appeal of cowboy stars on TV and in the movies. Those stars included Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, John Wayne, Gene Autry and others.
