Cowboy Boots Superstitions

Get amused with these boot superstitions!

There are so many superstitions that go along with cowboy boots, dating back for decades. Some of them are listed below. .

Did you know that it is bad luck to step into your left boot first? (Perhaps someone changed his routine and put his left boot on before his right boot, and he had some bad luck that day.)

You won't have any bad luck if you drop an old boot outside the front door as you leave on a trip. (Maybe someone was a little hesitant about taking a certain trip and decided he could avoid bad luck by doing things a certain way.)

If you trip over a boot it is a bad omen. (Well, yea, you could get hurt.)

If you wear your boots out on the toe...you'll spend money as you go. (Perhaps, your boots will get worn out because you wear them shopping--and you shop too much.)

If you put red pepper in your boots during the cold winter months, you will keep your feet warm. (It makes your mouth hot (or warm), perhaps it can make your feet warm too.)

You will quarrel with someone soon if you set your boots on a table. (Yea, maybe your mother or spouse will get mad at you for putting your boots on the table!!)

You will have a restless night's sleep if you stow your boots higher than your head at night. (Maybe someone didn't get a good night's sleep and noticed that his boots weren't in their normal location.)

If you walk wearing only one boot, it will bring you as many bad days as steps taken. (Who would wear only one boot?)

New boots that have never been worn should be stored high above the floor for luck. (Perhaps you just don't want to put your beautiful new boots on the floor--they deserve a higher place.)

If you give a pair of boots to a friend, he will walk away from you. (Did he not like the boots, or did you give him something to insult him?)

On Friday the 13th, wear old boots for good luck. (Well I guess we need to think of something that will give us good luck on this "unlucky" day.)

If a father wears his boots while his baby is born, it will be a boy. (Now come on! I'm sure there are men who went to the maternity ward in cowboy boots and became fathers of baby girls.)

If you accept a gift of old boots, you will walk in the previous owner's troubles. (Someone must have received a gift of boots from someone with a lot of problems, and coincidentally developed some of his own.)

If your new boots squeak as you walk, it means that you still owe the bootmaker payment on his bill. (Well, maybe you do.)
